BTS' Artist in Residence
BTS holds a high commitment to the arts and incorporates unique artwork into its business setting to not only create an aesthetically pleasing environment but also to inspire its team members with creative thinking.
BTS' Artist in Residence is Krista Gagelman. BTS commissioned Krista to create 25 one-of-a-kind pieces of ariginal artwork where they now adorn the halls of BTS headquarters. BTS' headquarters serves as a permanent gallery for Krista's fixed and rotating artworks and are showcased periodically during openings.

In 1993, Gagelman began to study and apply the principals color theory to her artwork. Studying the artwork of Joseph Albers and Mark Rothko opened Gagelman's awareness and understanding of color and its many fascinating properties. The deliberate juxtaposition of complimentary colors creates effects where colors seem to change and vibrate. The use of the swirl shape allows her to explore and compose an infinite array of moving color combinations within a configuration which is an appropriate symbol of infinity and movement. Gagelman typically creates artwork in bodies, which explores one idea, concept or story.
Krista Gagelman, from the plains of Western Kansas, to this day remains miniature in stature and devoted to the proliferation of pulchritude. Gagelman is an artist whose life-long passion for filling the world with beauty and color is evident in her artwork. Her contemporary paintings dramatically integrate color and motion to entice the viewer into a new world of sensation and emotion. Gagelman works with a variety of media and her paintings consist of acrylic on canvas, masonite or paper. She also produces a variety of works on paper which include watercolor monotype, pastel, color pencil, and mixed media collage. Currently, Gagelman has begun to expand her repertoire of creativity to fiber art and functional art.
